First consultation

Human have two sets of teeth. The first teeth are also called primary or milk teeth. You hold them for 2 to 6 years after they start to shed and the Permanent teeth begin to erupt, but it also takes up to 12 years for the total removal of the primary teeth. The dentist advises that you can make your first orthodontic appointment at 6-7 years of age when your primary dentition becomes complete. Your orthodontist will examine your child's dentition, or any potential abnormality can be treated at an early stage of growth.

Growing age

If your child has crowded, maligned teeth in the age of 8-9 years. You should consult your dentist about your child's orthodontic care. It is the growing age of your child your most problem related to jaw size can easily correct in this stage. Most dentists recommend removable orthodontic therapy at this age so that your child can understand the treatment process, and it will be easier to get fixed braces in the future.

Time for braces

At the age of 10-12 years, most of the kids have Permanent teeth. The orthodontist declared it the best time for braces. It is the stage when your child's growth protentional is high, but dentition is stable or almost completed except for the wisdom tooth. The child can also understand the problem and help deal with braces and achieve the best treatment outcome.

Adult Braces

New researched has proved that there is no age limit for orthodontic treatment. You can get braces even in the late 30s or 40s. Most of the time, adults exhibit more compliance than teenagers but the time and treatment plan are slightly more complex in adults. Bone development at that age cannot be modified, but the combined orthodontic and surgical treatment plan will make improvements possible.

So, there is no ideal time for braces you can get them in your childhood or adult age. It depends upon the severity of your orthodontic problem.
